We’ve chosen the Passive House standard as our preferred option because we believe it is the most responsible way to build — for those who live in these homes, for our communities, the planet, and for generations to come.
It is our intention to require standards of excellence in the products, materials and workmanship of each and every component.
We will be mindful to avoid the use of products that are detrimental to the environment. In all matters, we will be aware of our responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint for the benefit of all humanity.
John and Sue Langlois moved to Embro, in Oxford County, Ontario, in the late 1960s, with the goal of being part of a farming revolution that would "feed the world." Over time, their approach to realizing that vision has changed, but the intention remains the same: to offer lasting gifts to the communities — from local to global — of which they are a part.
In 1997, John and Sue purchased 70 acres on the southern edge of Embro. They hoped to one day develop the land in an ecologically responsible, regenerative fashion that would serve the inhabitants of this place for generations to come. The Passive House and Net Zero standards came to their attention in 2014, and these have become the benchmarks for the quality homes that will bear their name.
